Providing fixed-fee HR and employment law advice
“We have a good working relationship with Watershed. It understands our business well and we value and trust the advice and specialist support given to us on day-to-day issues.”
As the UK’s number one car park operator, National Car Parks (NCP) has more car parks than anyone else, with over 150,000 spaces in more than 500 sites. These include airports, train stations and off-street car parks, as well as working in partnership with many public bodies to help with their parking needs. NCP is passionate about its staff and works hard to deliver excellent customer service. Many of the car parks are linked to a national operations centre, which runs twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, and the company prides itself on being a good employer.
The geographical fragmentation of the business demands particular organisational and managerial skills and access to support on employment law and related matters. Since the late 1990s, our employment consultants have worked with NCP’s HR specialists and line managers to help ensure that sound standards are maintained in this difficult business environment.
Our approach is to provide pragmatic advice on employment problems and reinforce ‘the message’ with robust defences at employment tribunals.
Duncan Bowins, Managing Director Operations of NCP, says:
“We have a good working relationship with Watershed. It understands our business well and we value and trust the advice and specialist support given to us on day-to-day issues.”
In order to maintain its place in the market, NCP has faced up squarely to the need to embrace change in its working practices and structures. Watershed is proud to have assisted NCP in national and local projects encompassing all levels of the NCP team, from front line operations through all of the Head Office functions, right up to supporting the Executive team.
